The Port Residence Restaurant & Function Centre

Restaurateur Zane Haas would like to welcome you to The Port Residence where you will enjoy excellent cuisine, breath-taking views of the Mary River and friendly service.

The restaurant is located in Wharf Street in the centre of Maryborough's Portside precinct.

The Port Residence Restaurant operates in the old Custom's Residence House, which was built in the early 1900's. This magnificent, grand old building, has great views of the Mary River and Queens Park from upstairs dining to dining in the cool breeze on the lower verandah.

We are situated between the Custom's House museum and the Bond Store museum. Just look for the big red brick wall.

Our Cuisine

The Port Residence Restaurant is inspired by a fusion of traditional French and European to modern Australian and Asian flavours, varying between all nationalities. We can cater for any dietary requirements and all of our herbs are from our very own herb garden situatated at the entrance to the restaurant. We look forward to your visit and take pleasure in serving meals that are palate pleasing.

About Zane Haas

Zane was born in Maryborough and raised in Hervey Bay. He has returned to his old hometown to fulfill the dream of owning his own restaurant.

He developed his passion for cooking at home while helping in the kitchen and began studying cookery at Hervey Bay TAFE at the age of 15. He left Hervey Bay at 17 and completed his apprenticeship in Brisbane.

Zane was lucky enough to learn in a company that relocated employees twice a year to give them a complete learning experience over a variety of areas. His last year of apprentiship was completed at Sheraton Noosa where he remained employed for an additional four years.

A working holiday at The Movenpick Dream Castle at Euro Disney in Paris gave Zane an even broader education in International cuisine. He is sure that you will find the many delicacies at The Port Residence Restaurant and Function Centre will tempt your taste buds and satisfy your hunger at any time of the day.
